CAUSAS/ FATORES DE RISCO
Existem vários fatores que podem contribuir para o risco de um indivíduo desenvolver esquizofrenia.
Genética e ambiente: há algum tempo descobriu-se que a esquizofrenia pode ser hereditária e ocorrer em determinadas famílias. No entanto, há muitas pessoas que têm esquizofrenia e que não têm um membro da família com a desordem e, inversamente, muitas pessoas com um ou mais membros da família com o transtorno que não o desenvolvem.

Diagnóstico

Medicamentos são frequentemente usados para ajudar a controlar os sintomas da esquizofrenia. Eles ajudam a reduzir os desequilíbrios bioquímicos que causam a esquizofrenia e diminuem a probabilidade de recaída.
